Save Money, GET YOUR SAVING MUSCLE TRAINED.

How can you save money? It's not easy, but it's similar to everything else - WITH DAILY TRAINING - it's like a muscle and you build it up. If you get used to the way of thinking and behaving to save money, and make that part of your routine, your spending cycle would be much less than it used to be. Just like if you have more muscle in your body, your metabolism makes it easier to burn fat. Think of your money as your muscle: the more you build it up, the easier it is to keep doing it.

Tip 1 - Know where you are.

To save money, you need to know what areas you need to shape up. Some people eat out too much, some people buy clothes too much. Whatever it is, you don't need to completely stop it, just do it less.

Tip 2 - Know who you are. (Don't be confused by the media)

It is true that life is expensive. Housing, sky rocketing gas prices, but it seems like our society also encourages you to spend more than you can afford. Look at TV shows, radio, the news, everybody on the dramas lives in a decent house, driving nice cars, nobody seems like they're struggling. Of course, you see struggling people on TV too, but mostly on the news, and the news also tells you about wealthy people a lot. They show you how to reduce your wrinkles or veins on your hands and feet with plastic surgery. Seeing TV makes you think it's normal to have everything, but remember, they are sponsored by all these companies that want you to buy their products or services.

Tip 3 - Start slow for the long run.

Just like dieting, you need a goal, but make it a reachable goal, something like putting $100 in your saving account each month, bring your own lunch few times more than you usually do each week, etc. and it will add up. Think about it, lunch costs at least 5 bucks, probably more, if you eat at work every day, that's 25 bucks in one week (plus some coffee a few times at 3 bucks a pop!) and there's your $100 a month to put in your savings account instead!

Tip 4 - Make it fun!

I have an ING Direct account and their interest rate is great! Better or as good as most banks CD's and with no restrictions. Just looking at how much I get for the interest each month makes me so motivated to put more money in there.
